Central Door Locking Interior Switches

Lock and unlock switches located in the front door trim panels allow the door latches to be activated from inside the vehicle. The switches incorporate a 'locked' status indicator Light Emitting Diode (LED). The status indicator LED is controlled by the related door module, that illuminates whenever the respective door is locked.

When a Central Door Locking (CDL) lock/unlock switch is operated, the door module on the activated door transmits the central lock/unlock request. The door module is connected to the High Speed (HS) Controller Area Network (CAN) body systems bus. The door module transmits the lock/unlock request to the Body Control Module/Gateway Module (BCM/GWM) on the HS CAN body systems bus. The BCM/GWM then transmits the central lock/unlock command to all the vehicle door control modules to lock/unlock all the vehicle doors.
