Powertrain Control Module

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Jaguar XE and 2019 Jaguar XE. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: The change in engine torque and speed can take up to 30 seconds. Care must be taken not to confuse the JaguarDrive Control (JDC) operation with a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) fault.

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) varies the accelerator pedal maps to change the percentage of torque request for a given pedal angle. It also changes the initial torque rise or decline rate for that demanded torque.

Each driving mode uses a combination of operating parameters from each sub-system. Changing between driving modes initiates a different set of operating characteristics, which will be noticeable to the driver. The driver will notice differences in engine response when the accelerator pedal is held in a constant position and the driver selects dynamic mode. An engine torque and speed increase will be noticed.
