Front Row SEATBELT Buckle - Project 8 (G2247566): Removal

WARNING:
  • To prevent accidental deployment, you must power down the Restraints Control Module (RCM). Wait at least 2 minutes after disconnect the startup battery ground cable before doing any work on the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS). If you do not follow these instructions, it can cause injury or death.
  • Always wear safety glasses when working on an airbag equipped vehicle and when handling an airbag. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
  • Do not connect any electrical test device or equipment to the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) connectors.
NOTE:
  • This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
  • This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.

The following step(s) applies to: 

All vehicles 

  1. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.

    Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT

  2. To avoid accidental deployment, wait at least 2 minutes after you disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
  3. Remove the front row seat.

    Refer to: FRONT ROW SEAT - PROJECT 8

    The following step(s) applies to: 

    NAS vehicles

    • Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
    • Release the wiring harness clip.

    • Release the 3 wiring harness clips.
    • Remove and discard the bolt.
    • Remove the front row seatbelt buckle.

    The following step(s) applies to: 

    Non NAS vehicles

    • Disconnect the electrical connector.
    • Release the wiring harness clip.

    • Release the 3 wiring harness clips.
    • Remove and discard the bolt.
    • Remove the front row seatbelt buckle.
  8. NOTE: If equipped.

    • Disconnect the electrical connector.
    • Release the 2 wiring harness clips.
  9. NOTE: If equipped.
