Front Row SEATBELT - Project 8 (G2247565): Removal

WARNING:

To prevent accidental deployment, you must power down the Restraints Control Module (RCM). Wait at least 2 minutes after disconnect the startup battery ground cable before doing any work on the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS). If you do not follow these instructions, it can cause injury or death.
Always wear safety glasses when working on an airbag equipped vehicle and when handling an airbag. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
Do not connect any electrical test device or equipment to the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) connectors.

NOTE:

This procedure contains illustrations for left side components, right side components are similar.
This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.

Move the front row seat forward.
Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
To avoid accidental deployment, wait at least 2 minutes after you disconnect the startup battery ground cable.

Remove the anchor cover of the front row seatbelt.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the front row seatbelt pretensioner.

- Remove and discard the bolt.
- Release the lower anchor of the front row seatbelt.
NOTE: If equipped.

- Remove and discard the bolt.
- Release the front row seatbelt pretensioner.
Remove the B-pillar lower trim panel.
Refer to: B-PILLAR LOWER TRIM PANEL

- Remove and discard the bolt.
- Release the front row seatbelt upper anchor from the B-pillar.

- Remove the bolt.
- Release the front row seatbelt guide.

- Disconnect the electrical connector from the front row seatbelt retractor.
- Remove and discard the bolt.
- Remove the front row seatbelt retractor from the B-pillar.
NOTE: If equipped.

- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the front row seatbelt retractor.
- Remove and discard the bolt.
- Remove the front row seatbelt retractor from the B-pillar.
NOTE: Only do the following step(s) if a new component is to be installed.

- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the retainer.
- Remove the pin.
- Remove the front row seatbelt pretensioner.
