Inner Constant Velocity Joint Boot (G2085466): Installation

CAUTION: Extreme cleanliness must be exercised when handling these components.
Clean and inspect the components for deterioration.

NOTE: Do not tighten the CV joint boot clamp at this stage.
Install the new inner CV joint boot and inner boot clamp.
Renew Part: Inner constant velocity joint boot kit Quantity: 1.

CAUTION: Make sure that the circlip is installed from the end of the halfshaft to avoid damaging the circlip.
Install a new circlip to the halfshaft.
Renew Part: Circlip Quantity: 1.
- Install the CV joint outer boot clamp.
- Pack the inner CV joint with the grease supplied.
- Install the CV joint onto the halfshaft.
Install the original halfshaft nut onto the CV joint as illustrated to protect the threads.

NOTE: Make sure that the component is installed to the noted removal position.
Use a suitable soft faced hammer to strike the CV joint in the direction shown.
- Remove the original halfshaft nut.

NOTE:
- Make sure that the inner CV joint boot is correctly installed.
- Make sure that the clips are installed in the correct orientation.
Use a suitable tool to secure the CV joint boot clamps to the inner CV joint.
- Install the rear halfshaft.
