Rear Differential Oil Cooler - Project 8 (G2358258): Removal

- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING
- Drain the rear differential.
- Remove the exhaust system centre section.

- Remove the rear bumper.
Refer to: REAR BUMPER - PROJECT 8
- Remove both the rear halfshafts.
Refer to: REAR HALFSHAFT - INGENIUM I4 2.0L DIESEL/INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL/V6 S/C 3.0L PETROL
Mark the position of the driveshaft in relation to the rear drive axle flange.

CAUTION: Make sure that the driveshaft is supported with suitable retaining straps.
Remove and discard the 6 driveshaft to rear differential bolts.
Remove the rear differential oil cooler duct.
Disconnect the oil cooler pump electrical connector and release the wiring harness from the retaining clip.
- Remove the oil cooler pipe retaining bolt.
- Remove the 2 oil cooler pipe bracket retaining nuts
Release the rear differential wiring harness.
Disconnect the temperature sensor electrical connector.
Remove the lower oil cooler to rear differential pipe bolt and reposition the pipe away from the rear differential.
- Using a suitable stand support the rear differential.
General Equipment: Transmission jack
- Remove the front lower rear differential mounting bolts and brackets.
- Using a suitable stand support the rear differential.
Remove the rear differential bolts.

CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the oil cooler pipe when lowering the rear differential.
Lower the rear differential.
Remove the oil cooler pipe support bracket bolt and reposition the pipe away from the rear differential.
Remove the oil cooler to Electronic Torque Manager (ETM) unit union.
Remove the 4 oil cooler bracket retaining nuts.
Remove the oil cooler assembly.
