To protect the Electric Torque Manager (ETM) differential components from overheating, an individual oil cooling system is installed on the vehicle.

The cooling system comprises the following components:

The differential oil cooler and the pump is located behind the rear bumper cover. A bracket is attached to the vehicle floor panel with 4 nuts. The differential oil pump is secured to the bracket with 4 screws and rubber bushes to reduce Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH). The differential oil cooler is also attached to the bracket with 4 nuts and screws. The differential oil cooler is located in plastic ducting, which provides the appropriate air flow to the cooler. The front part of the ducting is secured to the bracket with 4 screws, the rear part of the ducting is bonded to the rear diffuser.

Flexible pipes connect the cooling system components to each other and to the ETM differential. The oil supply pipe is located between the differential oil cooler and the ETM differential. The reduction gearbox housing on the ETM differential has a hydraulic connection for the oil supply.

The drain pipe is located between the ETM differential and the differential oil pump. A hydraulic connector is installed into the ETM differential in place of the drain plug. This connector provides the attachment for the drain pipe to the ETM differential. The drain pipe is sealed to the hydraulic connector with an O-ring seal and secured with a screw. The drain plug is located in a metal connector element which is the part of the drain pipe. The other end of the drain pipe is connected to the oil pump inlet connection.

The intermediate pipe connects the oil pump outlet connection to the oil cooler inlet.

Operation of the differential oil pump is controlled by the Chassis Control Module (CHCM) via a relay, located in the Rear Junction Box (RJB). The CHCM energizes the relay to activate the oil pump.
