Pinpoint Test B: Set U3000-96

B1: SET U3000-96
CAUTION:
- This procedure requires Pathfinder version 235 loaded or a later.
- This procedure applies to 17 model year vehicles onwards.
NOTE: The Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment will read the correct Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) for the current vehicle and automatically take the vehicle out of 'Transportation mode' if required.
1. Connect the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment to the vehicle and begin a new diagnostic session. Then confirm the presence of IPMA DTC U3000-96.
2. When the presence of IPMA DTC U3000-96 has been confirmed the IPMA software must be checked and updated by following the instructions below.
  1. Select 'ECU Diagnostics'
  2. Select Image Processing Module A IPMA
  3. Select 'Update ECU
  4. Follow all on screen instructions until the software update is complete
  5. Where required reset the vehicle to 'Transportation Mode'
  6. When the task is completed, exit the current session
  7. Disconnect the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment and the Jaguar Land Rover approved battery support unit and retest the vehicle
    After updating the IPMA software is the fault still present?
    
    Yes
    
    GO to B2.
    
    No
    
    Disconnect the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment and the Jaguar Land Rover approved battery support unit, then retest vehicle and release the vehicle if the fault does not return.
B2: CHECKING THE ARE CORRECT
1. Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check and update the CCF as necessary.
  After the CCF check and update is the fault still present?
  
  Yes
  
  GO to B3.
  
  No
  
  Disconnect the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment and the Jaguar Land Rover approved battery support unit, then retest vehicle and release the vehicle if the fault does not return.
B3: CHECKING THE IMAGE PROCESSING MODULE (IPMA) SERIAL NUMBER
1. Check the IPMA serial number by following the instructions below.
  1. Connect the Jaguar Land Rover approved Pathfinder diagnostic equipment and battery support unit.
  2. Select 'ECU Diagnostics'
  3. Select Image Processing Module A IPMA
  4. Make a note of the IPMA ECU serial number
    Is the IPMA ECU Serial Number date code before 201903?
    
    Yes
    
    Replace the IPMA and program as a new module. Once complete retest the vehicle and release if the fault does not return. If the fault persists, raise a Technical Assistance (TA) request.
    
    No
    
    If the IPMA ECU Serial number date code is 201903 or later and IPMA DTC U3000-96 is still present, raise a TA request.
