Pinpoint Test A: Intermittent Blue Screen Displayed On The Touchscreen When Reverse Gear Is Selected (Only Applicable To 18 Model Year Vehicles Equipped With INCONTROL Touch Infotainment System)

- A1: INTERMITTENT BLUE SCREEN CHECK 1
- Connect the Jaguar Land Rover approved battery support unit
- Connect the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment to the vehicle and begin a new session.NOTE: The Jaguar Land Rover diagnostic equipment will read the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) for the Vehicle and automatically take the Vehicle out of 'Transport Mode' if required.
- Follow the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic prompts
- Select "control computer (ECU) Diagnostic"
- Select "Image Processing Module 'B' (IPMB)"
- Select "Update ECU "
- Follow all onscreen instructions to complete the task
Once the ECU update is complete, select reverse gear, has the blue screen issue been resolved?
Yes
Blue screen issue resolved.
No
GO to A2.
- A2: INTERMITTENT BLUE SCREEN CHECK 2
- Refer to the appropriate service information and check the power and ground connections to the rear view camera.
Are the power and ground circuits within specification?
Yes
GO to A3.
No
Repair power or ground circuit as necessary and retest.
- Refer to the appropriate service information and check the power and ground connections to the rear view camera.
- A3: INTERMITTENT BLUE SCREEN CHECK 3 CAUTION: Do not probe the coaxial cable connectors as they are prone to damage.NOTE: A DC resistance measurement is not a reliable test method as the system operates at low voltage and high frequency.
- Check the integrity of the rear view camera coaxial cable connectors (at rear view camera, Interactive Display Module 'A' (IDMA) and in-line connectors).
- Check the coaxial cable for excessive bending, clamping and insulation damage.
Is the rear view camera coaxial cable disconnected or damaged?
Yes
Reconnect or install a new coaxial cable as necessary.
No
Install a new rear view camera.
