Pinpoint Test B: P1889-18

  1. B1: P1889-18 TEST 1 
    1. Inspect the pump sealing for damage or signs of an oil leak

    Is there any damage present on the pump sealing?

    Yes:  Replace sealing. GO to B2  .

    No:  GO to  B2.

  2. B2: P1889-18 TEST 2 
    1. Clear the DTC 
    2. Drain and refill the oil. Refer to: TRANSFER CASE DRAINING AND FILLING  Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment complete routine - All Wheel Drive - Pump Venting. Clear the DTC  and retest

    Is the DTC  still present?

    Yes:  If the DTC  is still present, install a new de-air valve (breather C2D25080, LR093819) Always check and install the latest part number available. Drain and refill the oil. Refer to: TRANSFER CASE DRAINING AND FILLING  Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment complete routine - All Wheel Drive - Pump Venting. GO to B3  .

    No:  Repair is complete

  3. B3: P1889-18 TEST 3 
    1. Clear the DTC  and retest.

    Is the DTC  still present?

    Yes:  If the DTC  is still present, install a new transfer case actuator (T2H20181, LR093768) Always check and install the latest part number available. Drain and refill the oil. Refer to: TRANSFER CASE DRAINING AND FILLING  Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment complete routine - All Wheel Drive - Pump Venting. GO to B4  .

    No:  Repair is complete

  4. B4: P1889-18 TEST 4 
    NOTE:
    • The transfer case should only be replaced following the completion of the pinpoint test.
    • A session file will be reviewed in the warranty returns process to make sure the correct procedure has been followed.
    • A transfer case prior approval request will not be approved without evidence of the above pinpoint test being completed for P1889-18 being set.
    1. Clear the DTC  and retest

    Is the DTC still present?

    Yes:  Install a new transfer case

    No:  Repair is complete
