Over Temperature Protection

When the over temperature protection is activated, the multiplate clutch is fully opened and fixed Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) only is available. This is done to reduce the load on the multiplate clutch and circulate the transmission fluid to aid cooling. When the temperature has reduced to the normal operating temperature the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) restores normal operation.
