Front SUBFRAME - V6 S/C 3.0L Petrol (G1817269): Removal

The following step(s) applies to: 

All vehicles 

  1. Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
  2. WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.

    Raise and support the vehicle.

    Refer to: LIFTING

  3. Refer to: RADIATOR SPLASH SHIELD
  4. Refer to: ENGINE UNDERSHIELD
  5. Refer to: ENGINE COVER - V6 S/C 3.0L PETROL
  6. Refer to: AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE T-CONNECTOR
  7. NOTE: Vehicles with all wheel drive.

    Refer to: FRONT HALFSHAFT

    Secure the radiator assembly.

    • Special Tool(s): 303-1436 
    • Torque  : 40Nm 
  10. CAUTION:
    • Support the engine on a jack. The angle may need to be adjusted during this procedure.
    • Make sure to protect the paintwork.

    Renew Part: Steering column lower shaft lower bolt  Quantity: 1  .

    Torque  : 30Nm 

  19. NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.

    Renew Part: Tie-rod end nut  Quantity: 2  .

    Torque  : 133Nm 

  21. NOTE:
    • Loosen but do not fully remove.
    • Repeat the step for the other side.

    Renew Part: Wheel knuckle nut  Quantity: 2  .

  24. CAUTION: Discard the bolt.

    Renew Part: Shock absorber lower bolt  Quantity: 2  .

    Torque  : 170Nm 

  25. CAUTION: Discard the bolts.
    NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.

    General Equipment: Transmission jack 

    Renew Part: Front subframe to body bolts  Quantity: 6  .

    Torque 

    Front retaining bolts

    Stage 1: 100Nm 

    Stage 2: 180° 

    Centre retaining bolts

    Stage 1: 100Nm 

    Stage 2: 180° 

    Rear retaining bolts

    Stage 1: 80Nm 

    Stage 2: 60°

    Torque  : 9Nm 

  28. CAUTION: Discard the bolts.

    Renew Part: Steering gear bolts  Quantity: 4  .

    Torque 

    Stage 1: 30Nm 

    Stage 2: 60°

    Renew Part: Stabilizer bar link retaining nut(s)  Quantity: 4  .

    Torque 

    Retaining nuts: 48Nm 

    Retaining bolts: 60Nm 

  30. CAUTION: Nuts must be tightened with vehicle at normal ride height.
    NOTE: Discard the nuts and bolts.

    Renew Part: lower control arm nut(s) and bolt(s)  Quantity: 2  .

    Torque 

    Stage 1: 100Nm 

    Stage 2: 180° 

  31. CAUTION: Nuts must be tightened with vehicle at normal ride height.
    NOTE: Discard the nuts and bolts.

    Renew Part: Upper control arm to subframe nuts and bolts  Quantity: 2  .

    Torque 

    Stage 1: 100Nm 

    Stage 2: 180°
