Front SUBFRAME - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol (G2030532): Removal

The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
- Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
- Remove the engine cover.
Refer to: ENGINE COVER - INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING
General Equipment: 2 post lift
- Remove the engine undershield.
Refer to: ENGINE UNDERSHIELD
- Remove the front bumper
Refer to: FRONT BUMPER - PROJECT 8
Remove the radiator protection bar.
The following step(s) applies to:
Hot climate vehicles
Release the coolant pipe bracket from the subframe.
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
Disconnect both the stabilizer bar link lower ball joints and discard the nuts.
Disconnect both the tie rod end ball joints and discard the nuts.
Disconnect all the lower suspension arms from the subframe and discard the nuts and bolts.
Remove both the splash shields.
Release the engine mount vacuum pipe.
- Lower the vehicle on the lift to an appropriate working height.

CAUTION: Make sure to protect the paintwork.
Install the special tool.
Special Tool(s): 303-021
Remove and discard the engine mount to engine bracket nut.
Remove and discard the engine mount to engine bracket nut.
Disconnect the steering gear wiring harness.
- Raise the vehicle on the lift to an appropriate working height.

Vehicles with automatic transmission
Release the transmission oil cooler from its mounting bracket
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
Using a suitable stand, support the radiator.
General Equipment: Vehicle/axle stands

NOTE: Only carry out the following step(s) if a new component is to be installed.
Using a suitable stand, remove the subframe and discard the bolts.
General Equipment: Transmission jack
Remove both the engine mounts from the subframe.
Remove the steering gear heat shield.
Remove the steering gear heat shield.
Release the steering gear wiring harness.
Remove the steering gear and discard the bolts.
- Remove the steering gear wiring harness.
Remove the stabilizer bar.
Remove the radiator mounting brackets.
Remove the transmission oil cooler mounting bracket.
