Rear Lower Arm - AWD (G1920721): Removal

CAUTION:
To avoid damage to the Constant Velocity joint (CV) or CV
boot, do not allow the halfshaft to hang.
NOTE:

- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Before replacing the Front Lower Control Arm, make sure to have followed the diagnosis and testing procedure.

- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

- Remove the wheel and tire.

NOTE: If equipped.
Disconnect the height sensor.
Remove and discard the front damper yoke bolt.
Remove and discard the front lower control arm nut and bolt.

CAUTION: Take extra care when handling the assembly. Failure to follow this instruction might result in damage to the CV boot.
Position the wheel knuckle as illustrated.
Loosen, but do not fully remove the rear lower control arm ball joint nut.

CAUTION: Make sure the nut is installed to the ball joint. Failure to follow this instruction might result in damage to the CV boot.
Using the special tool, release the rear lower control arm ball joint from the wheel knuckle.
Special Tool(s): JLR-204-793

NOTE: Using a suitable stand, support the wheel knuckle.
Remove and discard the rear lower control arm ball joint retaining nut.
- Remove and discard the rear lower control arm inner nut and bolt.
- Remove the rear lower control arm.
