Front Wheel Bearing And Wheel Hub - AWD (G1899480): Removal

CAUTION:
To avoid damage to the joint or gaiter, do not allow the driveshaft to hang.
NOTE:

- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Before replacing the Front Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub, make sure to have followed the diagnosis and testing procedure.

- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING
General Equipment: 2 post lift
- Remove the wheel and tire.
Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE

CAUTION: Do not use air or power tools to remove or install the halfshaft nut.NOTE: Retain the halfshaft nut for use in the installation procedure.
Apply the foot brake and remove the halfshaft nut.
Disconnect and reposition the wheel speed sensor.
Release the brake pad sensor wire.

CAUTION:
- Discard the bolts.
- Make sure that the brake hose does not support the full weight of the brake caliper assembly.
Disconnect and reposition the brake caliper.
Using the special tool, release the halfshaft.
Special Tool(s): 205-857
- Remove the special tool.
Remove the brake disc.

CAUTION:
- Discard the bolts.
- Do not attempt to release the wheel hub by hitting it with a hammer directly, loosen the wheel hub retaining bolts partially before applying an even amount of force to the head of each bolts to release the wheel hub from the wheel knuckle. Failure to follow this instruction may cause damage to the component.
Remove the wheel bearing.
