Front Wheel Bearing And Wheel Hub - AWD (G1899480): Installation

  1. CAUTION:
    • Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of corrosion and foreign material.
    • Install new bolts.
    • Install the bolts and tighten in the sequence shown.
    • Make sure that all bolts are fully installed in less than 5 minutes.

    Install the wheel bearing.

    Renew Part: Wheel bearing bolts  Quantity: 4  .

    Torque 

    Stage 1: 30Nm 

    Stage 2: 60Nm 

    Stage 3: 90Nm 

    Stage 4: 120°

    Install the brake disc.

    Torque  : 20Nm 

  3. CAUTION: Do not use air or power tools to remove or install the halfshaft nut.

    Use the original halfshaft nut to aid installation of the halfshaft into the hub.

  4. CAUTION: Install new bolts

    Install the brake caliper.

    Renew Part: Brake caliper carrier bolt(s)  Quantity: 2  .

    Torque 

    Stage 1: 70Nm 

    Stage 2: 120°

    Install the brake pad sensor wire.

    Install the wheel speed sensor.

    Torque  : 9Nm 

  7. CAUTION: Do not use air or power tools to remove or install the halfshaft nut.

    • Apply the foot brake and tighten the original halfshaft nut.

      Torque  : 175Nm 

    • Remove and discard the original halfshaft nut.
    • Install and tighten a new halfshaft nut.

      Renew Part: Front halfshaft nut  Quantity: 1  .

      Torque 

      Stage 1: 80Nm 

      Stage 2: 60° 

  8. Install the wheel and tire.

    Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE
