Front Coil Spring Adjust - Project 8 (G2258221): Activation

CAUTION:

The track setting of the front spring is not for use on the public highway.
If the vehicle has any components adjusted for track settings the vehicle must not be driven on the public highway and must be appropriately transported.

NOTE:

This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
This procedure contains illustrations for left side components, right side components are similar.

Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING
Remove the wheel and tire.
Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE - PROJECT 8
Steps 4-8 are only required to put the front suspension into track position.
CAUTION: The front coil spring must never be adjusted using the lower stop ring.

- Using a suitable tool, rotate the coil spring seat in the direction illustrated.
- Continue to rotate the coil spring seat until a 6mm (0.25 inch) gap is made.
NOTE: Return the adjustment shims to the customer for future use.

Remove the adjustment shims.

- Rotate the coil spring seat in the direction illustrated to close the gap between the coil spring seat and stop ring.
- Tighten the coil spring seat hand tight.
Repeat the procedure for the other side of the vehicle.
Steps 10-14 are only required to put the front suspension into road position.
CAUTION: The front coil spring must never be adjusted using the lower stop ring.

Install the adjustment shims.

- Rotate the coil spring seat in the direction illustrated to close the gap between the coil spring seat and the adjustment shims.
- Tighten the coil spring seat hand tight.
Repeat the procedure for the other side of the vehicle.
Install the wheel and tire.
