Rear lower control arm
The rear lower control arm is mounted with a compliant bush at its inner end, which locates via brackets on the subframe.
The outer-end of the rear lower control arm has an integral ball joint, which is connected to the wheel knuckle. An integral clevis bracket on the forward face of the rear lower control arm allows for the attachment of the front lower control arm. A cross axis joint is pressed into a machined bore adjacent to the clevis bracket. The cross axis joint enables the attachment of the yoke, which is secured to the spring and shock absorber assembly.
Front lower control arm
The front lower control arm is equipped with a compliant bush in its inner end, which is located in a clevis on the subframe. The joint is equipped with a sacrificial slip mechanism. The slip mechanism prevents major suspension components from suffering damage in the event of a front longitudinal impact to the wheel.
