Low Pressure Exhaust Gas RECIRCULATION

The Low Pressure) LP Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system takes exhaust gases from the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) exit and passes the gas through the LP EGR cooler. The exhaust gases then passed through the LP EGR valve and mixed with the fresh air before flowing into the turbocharger. The cooled gases are then directed through the LP EGR valve via a butterfly valve.

The LP EGR valve consists of a pipe between the fresh air duct and the turbocharger. The LP EGR butterfly valve covering the LP EGR inlet, in the center bottom of the LP EGR valve. The LP EGR butterfly valve opens into the fresh air stream, promoting both thorough mixing before the gas enters the turbocharger. The LP EGR butterfly valve also provides suction to drive the LP EGR gas through the system
