Low Pressure Exhaust Gas RECIRCULATION

The gases are transported from the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) outlet to the Low Pressure (LP) Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler via a pipe. The LP EGR cooler has no bypass mode.

There is a simple mesh filter installed before the gases reach the outlet of the cooler that prevents larger particles of soot from entering the turbocharger system.

The LP EGR temperature sensor is located on the LP EGR cooler outlet. The LP EGR temperature sensor signal is received by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) via hardwired connection.
