Service Instructions Following The Diagnostic Procedure

Service Instruction 1 

"Service Instruction 1 must be used if the Fuel Fired Booster Heater (FFBH) actuated correctly during the "Auxiliary Heater Activation Test" and there are no stored DTC  s in the HVAC Control Module

1. Remove the front left fender splash shield. Refer to: FENDER
2. Remove the front bumper. Refer to: FRONT BUMPER
3. Remove and discard the air intake pipe
   NOTE: Discard the fasteners that are shown in the illustration below

4. Install the mounting bracket as shown in the illustration below

   NOTE: Install a new fastener as shown in the illustration below
5. Install the new air intake pipe as shown in the illustration below

6. Install cable ties as shown in the illustration below. Do not fully tighten the cable ties at this stage

7. Make sure that the end of the air intake pipe is installed level with the mounting bracket as shown in the illustration below. Fully tighten the cable ties and remove the excess cable tie using a suitable tool.

8. Make sure that the air intake pipe does not contact the wiring harness that is shown in the illustration below.

9. Install the front bumper. Refer to: FRONT BUMPER
10. Install the front left fender splash shield. Refer to: FENDER

Service Instruction 2 

"Service Instruction 2" must be followed if the Fuel Fired Booster Heater (FFBH) did not actuate correctly during the "Auxiliary Heater Activation Test" in the HVAC Control Module.

"Service Instruction 2" must be followed if the Fuel Fired Booster Heater (FFBH) has either B1D26-71 and/or B1D29-93 DTC  s stored in the HVAC Control Module.

1. Replace the Fuel Fired Booster Heater (FFBH) blower and the FFBH combustion chamber. Refer to: FUEL FIRED BOOSTER HEATER BLOWER and Refer to: FUEL FIRED BOOSTER HEATER COMBUSTION CHAMBER
2. Remove the front left fender splash shield. Refer to: FENDER
3. Remove the front bumper. Refer to: FRONT BUMPER
4. Remove and discard the air intake pipe
   NOTE: Discard the fasteners that are shown in the illustration below

5. Install the mounting bracket as shown in the illustration below

6. Install the new air intake pipe as shown in the illustration below

7. Install cable ties as shown in the illustration below. Do not fully tighten the cable ties at this stage

8. Make sure that the end of the air intake pipe is installed level with the mounting bracket as shown in the illustration below. Fully tighten the cable ties and remove the excess cable tie using a suitable tool.

9. Make sure that the air intake pipe does not contact the wiring harness that is shown in the illustration below.

10. Install the front bumper. Refer to: FRONT BUMPER
11. Install the front left fender splash shield. Refer to: FENDER
12. Continue to the Fuel Fired Booster Heater (FFBH) system functionality check.
