The Low Pressure (LP) Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) differential pressure sensor is located on the front right of the engine. The sensor is located to a bracket which is attached to the LP EGR valve. The sensor is secured to the bracket with a screw.
The LP EGR differential pressure sensor is used by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to determine the pressure drop across the LP EGR cooler and valve. The PCM then uses the pressure drop and engine running conditions to determine the amount of exhaust gases, flowing through the LP EGR valve, for combustion requirements.
