Diesel Exhaust Fluid Heater Control Unit - If Equipped

The Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) heater control unit is located in the luggage compartment. The DEF heater control unit is located on a bracket which is attached to the luggage compartment reinforcement panel, adjacent to the startup battery. The DEF heater control unit receives a permanent 12V power supply via the Battery Junction Box (BJB) and the Rear Junction Box (RJB).
The DEF heater control unit provides current information for each heater power stage to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The information is transmitted to the PCM via a Private Controller Area Network (CAN) bus. Any faults detected are stored in the PCM fault memory and can be retrieved with the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment.
