NOTE: Check the vacuum pipe(s) and connections are tight and there are no signs of leakage.
Reconnect the vacuum line directly from the right active engine mount.
- NOTE: Check the vacuum pipe(s) and connections are tight and there are no signs of leakage.
- Disconnect the vacuum line that is clipped to the subframe.
- Connect the Jaguar Land Rover approved vacuum testing equipment to the left vacuum pipe.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install exhaust extractors to the vehicle.
- Start the engine and allow to idle.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved vacuum testing equipment, check that the active engine mount system pulls vacuum. The active engine mount system should pull a vacuum greater than 0.75 bar and then be able to hold that vacuum for 30 seconds.
- If the active engine mount system pulls a vacuum for 30 seconds, continue to the next step.
- If the active engine mount system does not pull vacuum for 30 seconds, continue to step 16.
-
NOTE: Check the vacuum pipe(s) and connections are tight and there are no signs of leakage.
- Remove the Jaguar Land Rover approved vacuum testing equipment from the left vacuum pipe.
- Reconnect the vacuum pipe that is clipped to the subframe.
-
- Lower the vehicle and switch off the engine.
- Install the engine undershield.
Refer to: ENGINE UNDERSHIELD
- The active engine mount vacuum check is complete and the vehicle has passed.
- Lower the vehicle and switch off the engine.
- Remove the front left fender splash shield.
Refer to: FRONT WHEEL ARCH LINER (G2401291)
Disconnect the vacuum line directly from the left active engine mount.
- Inspect the left active engine mount switch positions.
- If the right active engine mount switch clearly is not visible as shown in illustration E222279, continue to step 18.
- If the right active engine mount switch is clearly visible as shown in illustration E222279, replace the right active engine mount and continue to step 5.
Refer to: LEFT ENGINE MOUNT
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved vacuum testing equipment, connect to the left active engine mount and check that the active engine mount holds vacuum. The engine mount should generate a vacuum of 0.4 bar and then be able to hold the vacuum for 30 seconds.
- If the left active engine mount holds vacuum for 30 seconds, continue to step 19.
- If the left active engine mount does not hold vacuum for 30 seconds, replace the left active engine mount and retest.
