SYMPTOM POSSIBLE CAUSES ACTION
Accessory drive belt noise
  • Accessory drive belt stretched, damaged or contaminated with oil
  • Coolant pump drive belt condition and alignment
  • Accessory drive belt pulley(s) misaligned/damaged/seized
NOTE: If the accessory drive/coolant pump drive belt is found to be misaligned or damaged, it must be REPLACED
  • GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
  • Check the accessory drive belt pulleys for correct alignment, damage and freedom of rotation
  • Check the integrity of the accessory drive/coolant pump drive belt. If the accessory drive/coolant pump drive belt is found to be misaligned or damaged, it must be REPLACED REFER to:

  • Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system, perform routine - Noise, vibration and harshness sensor diagnostic test - Accessory drive belt
Accessory drive belt does not hold tension
  • Accessory drive belt stretched, damaged or contaminated with oil
  • Accessory drive belt tensioner worn/damaged
