Brake Pads - Project 8 (G2248941): Installation

WARNING: If the brake caliper piston seal is damaged a new brake caliper must be installed.
Inspect the brake caliper piston seals for damage.
Clean and inspect the brake caliper at the brake pad contact points.
NOTE: Step 3-7 should only be done when new brake pads are installed.-
CAUTION: Do not allow dirt or foreign liquids to enter the reservoir.
- Remove the cowl panel access cover.
- Remove the cap from the brake fluid reservoir.

CAUTION: Check the brake fluid reservoir level before pushing the piston back, failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the vehicle.NOTE: As the piston is pushed back into the caliper housing, the brake fluid level in the reservoir will rise. Do not allow the reservoir to overflow.
Using a suitable syringe, remove the brake fluid from the reservoir, if necessary.
Using a piston retraction tool, push back the caliper pistons.

CAUTION: Make sure that the wiring harness is correctly routed.
- Install the brake pad wear sensor.
Renew Part: Brake pad wear sensor cable Quantity: 1.
- Secure the 4 grommets.
- Secure the wiring harness to the clip.
- Install the brake pad wear sensor.
- Install the front wheel arch liner.

NOTE: Make sure that the components are installed in correct orientation.
- Install the brake pads.
- Install the middle brake pad retaining pin.
- Install and tighten the pin retaining bolt.
Torque : 35Nm
- Install the anti-rattle spring.
- Install the 2 retaining pins.

- Position and secure the grommet.
- Connect the brake pad wear sensor to the brake pads.
- Carefully secure the clip.

- Install the brake cooling air duct.
- Install and tighten the 5 screws.
Torque : 10Nm
- Install the wheel and tire assembly.
