Brake Disc - Project 8 (G2248940): Installation

  1. CAUTION: Take extra care when handling the component.

    Install the brake disc and tighten the screw.

    Torque  : 35Nm 

  2. WARNING: If the brake caliper piston seal is damaged a new brake caliper must be installed.

    Inspect the caliper piston seals for damage.

    Clean and inspect the brake caliper at the brake pad contact points.

    With a suitable piston retraction tool, push the pistons slightly back into the brake caliper housing to aid the installation of the brake pads.

  5. CAUTION: Make sure that new bolts are installed.
    • Install the brake caliper.
    • Install and tighten the 2 new bolts.

    Renew Part: Brake caliper carrier bolt(s)  Quantity: 2. 

    Torque 

    Stage 1: 80Nm 

    Stage 2: 60° 

  6. NOTE: Make sure that the components are installed in correct orientation.
    • Install the brake pads.
    • Install the middle brake pad retaining pin.
    • Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 35Nm 

    • Install the anti-rattle spring.
    • Install the 2 retaining pins.
    • Position and secure the grommet.
    • Install the brake pad wear sensor.
    • Carefully secure the clip.
    • Install the brake cooling air duct.
    • Install and tighten the 5 screws.

    Torque  : 10Nm 

  7. Install the wheel and tire assembly.
