Brake Caliper - Project 8 (G2248939): Installation

  1. NOTE: Make sure that new bolts are installed.
    • Install the brake caliper.
    • Install and tighten the 2 new bolts.

    Renew Part: Brake caliper carrier bolt(s)  Quantity: 2. 

    Torque 

    Stage 1: 80Nm 

    Stage 2: 60° 

  2. CAUTION:
    • Make sure that a new flexible brake hose assembly is to be installed.
    • Make sure that the brake hose is not twisted and is correctly located.
    • Install the new brake hose.

      Renew Part: Brake hose  Quantity: 1. 

    • Connect and tighten the brake pipe unions.

      Torque  : 15Nm 

    • Install the retaining clip.
    • Connect the brake hose to the brake caliper.

    Torque  : 38Nm 

  3. NOTE: Make sure that the components are installed in correct orientation.
    • Install the brake pads.
    • Install the middle brake pad retaining pin.
    • Install and tighten the retaining pin bolt.

      Torque  : 35Nm 

    • Install the anti-rattle spring.
    • Install the 2 retaining pins.
    • Position and secure the grommet.
    • Install the brake pad wear sensor.
    • Carefully secure the clip.
    • Install the brake cooling air duct.
    • Install and tighten the 5 screws.

    Torque  : 10Nm 

  6. Bleed the brake system.

  7. Install the wheel and tire assembly.
