Initial Setup

NOTE: Each update step which is being performed using the navigation subsystem requires the vehicle to be stationary.

To update the navigation software with the required contents, the following tools are needed:

A PC equipped with the following:
Microsoft Windows® operating system (Windows XP Service Pack 3 or later)
Internet connection
USB port
An empty USB storage device formatted to FAT32 file system with a capacity of at least 8 GB

Before the first startup, the navigation software is only fitted with basic content without any detailed map data. By preforming the initial setup, the appropriate map content will be available for the navigation software. The process can be executed repeatedly until 200 kilometres are driven followed by a 45 day period. After that, only normal map update can be performed. The first step for performing the initial setup is to download the newest update files using FTP Downloader software provided by NNG. After the newest files have been downloaded, the navigation software can be updated.
