Map installation and activation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Jaguar XE. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

NOTE:

When you have a USB stick with the maps downloaded onto it, you can update the maps on any vehicle.
- The VIN of the vehicle where you are installing the maps must match the activation file on the USB stick. If there is no corresponding activation file, you cannot activate the navigation in that vehicle.
- Only one USB stick can be detected by navigation, if you insert map data USB stick and activation file USB stick, the installation and activation may not work. Suggested to put activation file and map data on the same USB stick, or remove the USB stick with map data after map data copy and then insert the other USB stick with activation file.
- If you have trouble getting the map updates to work, try using a different USB stick.
The file name of the activation file (value.dat or ReLoginCode....csv) must be exactly the same as it when downloaded, the file name might be automatically changed due to existing file in the download destination, for example value (1). dat, please change the file name back to value.dat and then continue.
Only one value.dat or ReLoginCode....csv file should be stored in the root of the USB stick.
The operation of map installation can be done at any time, but the activation (incl. on website and in vehicle) must be done 1 or 2 days prior to handover vehicle to customer.

The engine must be running or in Electric Vehicle (EV) ready mode during the entire map update process to make sure that the vehicle's power-saving measures do not interrupt the update.

Extract map data downloaded from the portal, copy "data" folder to an empty USB stick with FAT32 format and at least 8G free space.
Insert the USB stick into the front UIP in central compartment.
Select Navigation from the home screen and then press Copy .

Wait until the copy progress comes to 100%, which may last 12 minutes or longer.

Remove the USB stick
Insert a USB stick contains the activation file (either value.dat or ReLoginCode....csv)
Press Activate .
