Vehicle Exterior (G2245322): Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Jaguar XE. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove external transit protection and check exterior of vehicle is clean and undamaged.
CAUTION: Ensure that all jewellery, belt buckles etc are covered to protect the vehicle while the transit protection is removed.
NOTE: Remove CAT1 protection after 180 days - Remove CAT2/CAT3 protection after 1 year, unless the vehicle is to be transported by road on a transporter then remove after 180 days.

If the cover is very dirty then remove loose/large amounts of dirty build up before removal - manual wash as required.

Do not use any additional products such as solvents, cleaning agents etc. before the protection has been removed - these could have an adverse affect with the vehicle protection.

When removing the cover avoid any contact of zippers, hooks, adhesive tapes and dirty outside areas of the cover with the vehicle surface. Remove the separate hood cover as a last step to avoid scratches on the hood when removing the body cover.

Remove all tape slowly - removing it too quickly could cause the tape to remain partially adhered to the vehicle.

Remove all fasteners (clips, Velcro, elastic etc.) slowly and with care so as not to damage the vehicle.

Roll up the cover inwards to itself from front to rear (recommended to be conducted by 2 people working concurrent on left and right sides of the vehicle). Initially, lift the front part of the cover over the hood, when reaching the lower windscreen area, continue to roll to the rear.

Dispose of the protection in accordance with local regulations. Once the cover has been removed or damaged, it should never be refitted to a vehicle.

Check exterior of vehicle is clean and undamaged.

Record any damage on the PDI check sheet.

  2. Visually check the underside of the vehicle

Check the security of the exhaust, brake lines and fuel lines. Check for fluid leaks and suspension components.

  3. Remove wheel protection and discard according to local regulations (where applicable). Fit wheel centre badges.
