Special Paint Care Guidelines For Satin Matte Paint
The satin matte effect is created by a coarse surface which changes the way that light is reflected, compared to the light reflected from a smooth surface.

This surface is irrecoverably destroyed by mechanical methods such as polishing and rubbing.
When vehicles are finished in the satin matte paint finish it is important for customers to be made aware of the strict care, observance and adherence to the following guidelines to prevent damage to the paintwork arising from incorrect maintenance, treatment and use.
Additional care is required when cleaning the exterior of vehicles with a satin matte paint finish.
It is recommended to wash the vehicle by hand.
Soak heavily soiled areas and rinse the vehicle by hand to clear it of any heavy deposits.
Wash the vehicle by hand, use a soft sponge and make sure excessive pressure is not applied to the paint surface.
Avoid washing the vehicle in direct sunlight.
Remove the following substances immediately where they are present:
- Insect remains
- Bird droppings
- Fingerprints
- Tree resin
- Oils, grease and fuels
- Wax
- Tar spots
JLR only recommend the use of care products which are specifically designed for this exclusive satin matte.
- Do not use automatic vehicle washes.
- Do not use any aftermarket protective coatings as these could affect the paint surface.
- Do not use alternative paint cleaners, spirits, abrasives or polishing products.
- Do not apply stickers.
- Do not apply protective films.
- Do not apply magnetic plates.
- Do not attempt to remove scratches by flatting or polishing.
- Do not attempt to remove blemishes or paint imperfections by polishing the satin matte paint. The satin matte finish, matte: gloss ratio will change.
It is recommended that vehicles are washed by hand, however a power washer may be used to remove heavy/stubborn soiling, providing the jet nozzle is a minimum distance of 300 mm from the paintwork.
If by accident, wax gets onto the surface: Remove it immediately with silicone remover, taking care not to exert excessive pressure on the paint surface as this could lead to a change in the matte:gloss ratio.
