Air Conditioning Compressor - Project 8 (G2249568): Removal

CAUTION: Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all components must be sealed.

This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING
Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
Evacuate the Air Conditioning (A/C) system.
Refer to: AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM RECOVERY, EVACUATION AND CHARGING
Remove the air filter outlet pipe T-connector.
Refer to: AIR FILTER OUTLET PIPE T-CONNECTOR
Remove the accessory drive belt.
Refer to: ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT
Remove the engine undershield.
Refer to: ENGINE UNDERSHIELD - PROJECT 8

- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Move the transmission cooler away from the subframe.
CAUTION: Immediately cap all refrigerant lines to prevent ingress of dirt and moisture.

- Remove the 2 nuts.
- Move the A/C pipes away from the A/C compressor.
- Discard the 4 A/C pipe O-ring seals.

- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the clip.
- Move the wiring harness away from the A/C compressor.

Remove the 3 bolts.
Remove the A/C compressor.
