Front Row Seat - Project 8 (G2246143): Removal

WARNING:

To prevent accidental deployment, you must de-energize the power in the Restraints Control Module (RCM). Wait at least 2 minutes after you disconnect the startup battery ground cable before you do any work on, of adjacent to, the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS). If you do not follow these instructions, it can cause injury or death.
Always wear safety glasses when working on an air bag equipped vehicle and when handling an air bag module. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
Do not connect any electrical test device or equipment to the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) connectors.

This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.

Move the front row seat forward.

Remove the cover.

Remove the 2 bolts.

Move the front row seat rearward.

Remove the 2 bolts.

Move the front row seat forward and into the folded position.
Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
To avoid accidental deployment, wait at least 2 minutes after you disconnect the startup battery ground cable.

Release the front row seat.

- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Remove the clip.

- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the bolt.
- Release the seatbelt pretensioner.
CAUTION:
- Protect the surrounding paintwork to avoid damage.
- Protect the surrounding trim to avoid damage.
NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.
