Pinpoint Test G: Rear Seat Backs Will Not Fold

- Check the operation of the rear seat back folding function and confirm the customers concern.
Is the customer concern that the seat back does not automatically fold when the seat release handle is pulled?
Yes
No further action required, refer the customer to Jaguar Land Rover owner information for rear seats - "Folding and Raising the Rear Seats"
No
GO to G2.

- Check the affected rear seat release cable pull handle assembly is correctly installed.
NOTE: This image highlights the mounting ring, make sure this is installedIs the seat release cable handle secure?
Yes
GO to G3.
No
Refit the seat release cable handle assembly and make sure that the mounting ring is present and retest. If the function operates as expected, no further action is required. If the function is still not operating correctly GO to G3.
- G3: SEAT BACK RELEASE HINGE ADJUSTMENT CHECKS
- If the seat back does not release from the folding latch, loosen the lower hinge point seat fixings and attempt to release the seat back using the release pull cable.
- If the seat now folds, resecure the hinge fixings and adjust both seat release clasps and retest.
Does the seat back fold function operate correctly?
Yes
No further action required.
No
Continue with further diagnosis.
- If the seat back does not release from the folding latch, loosen the lower hinge point seat fixings and attempt to release the seat back using the release pull cable.
