Seats (G1905193): Operation
Front Seats
Operating one of the adjustment switches will initiate the corresponding motor for that axis until the switch is released. Only two seat motors can be driven at any one time.
In order to adjust the seats the ignition must be on.
If the seat encounters an obstruction it will stop moving and all further movement will be restricted.
The seat must be reset to continue movement.
- Remove 1. the obstruction
- Move the seat to the point where movement ceased
- Press and hold the switch for at least two seconds to override the obstruction.
Initialization
When a replacement Driver Seat Module (DSM) or Passenger Seat Module (PSM) is equipped, it should be calibrated using Jaguar approved diagnostic equipment so that the module can learn the positions of the adjustment motors.
Seat Memory
The seat memory switchpack is connected to the driver seat switchpack. A Local Interconnect Network (LIN) bus connects the seat switchpack to the DSM. The selected memory position switch operation is passed from the seat switchpack on LIN bus to the DSM which operates the seat motors to the correct positions associated with that memory preset position.
The memory function store the door mirror positions associated with the selected memory preset switch 1 to 3.
To store a memory position, move the seat and the door mirrors to the required positions, and press the 'M' switch on the memory switchpack. Then press the a memory preset switch 1 to 3 to store the position against the selected memory switch preset number.
A single chime audible confirmation is generated by the Instrument Cluster (IC) to provide confirmation to the driver that the memory store operation has been successfully completed.
The Information and Message Center will display a message to confirm that the action is complete.

Seat Switchpack
The switchpack operates the motors in the seat. The relevant motor will operate while the switch is operated, it will stop when the switch is released.
On non memory electric seats the seat switchpack is connected directly to the seat motors.
Front Seat Heating
The seat heater elements only operate when the engine is running. Power for the heater elements is supplied from a comfort relay, which is controlled by a hardwired ignition on signal from the Passenger Junction Box (PJB). Each seat cushion heater element contains a Seat Heater Control Module (SHCM) which is connected via a LIN bus to the HVAC. The SHCM also controls the power supply to the backrest heater element.
Front seat heating selections made on the Touch Screen (TS). The seat icon on the TS will indicate if heating is selected.
Front Climate Seats
Depending on vehicle specification, climate controlled front seat is available for the power operated seats. A heating/cooling element is incorporated within each front seat cushion and squab. The Seat Climate Control Module (SCCM) (Driver and Passenger side) and electrical wiring is located beneath each front seat.
The heating/cooling of the climate seats only operates when the engine is running. The modules are connected on the LIN bus to the HVAC, power feed for the climate assemblies in the seats is supplied from the PJB.
The SCCM uses the signals from the temperature sensors in the backrest and the cushion climate assemblies to regulate the seat at the selected temperature. If full seat heating/cooling is selected, both the backrest and the cushion climate assemblies are activated. If partial seat heating/cooling is selected, only the backrest climate assembly is activated.
Rear Seats
Control of the rear seat heating is by switches on the rear of the center console. There are three LEDs to indicate the temperature.
The control signal is on the LIN Bus. The heater elements receive a supply from the PJB.
To fold the rear seats, operate the relevant seat release mechanism located in the trunk.
The middle of the rear seat can also be released separately. Press and hold the button to release and then fold the middle of the rear seat forward.
Ensure there are no obstructions when folding the seats.
