Cooling Module - Project 8 (G2248476): Removal

WARNING:

Cooling fans may continue to operate after the engine is turned off. They may also start to operate after the engine is turned off and continue operating for up to 10 minutes.
Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.

CAUTION: before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all components must be sealed.

NOTE:

This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

Raise and support the vehicle using a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING
Evacuate the Air Conditioning (A/C) system.
Refer to: AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM RECOVERY, EVACUATION AND CHARGING
Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
Remove the engine undershield.
Refer to: ENGINE UNDERSHIELD - PROJECT 8
Remove the front bumper.
Refer to: FRONT BUMPER
Drain the cooling system.
Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING
Remove the air filter outlet pipe T-connector.
Refer to: AIR FILTER OUTLET PIPE T-CONNECTOR

- Disconnect the air duct from the air filter assembly.
- Repeat this step for the other side.

- Remove the 4 screws.
- Remove the air duct.

- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the 2 mounting brackets.

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Disconnect the right side lower coolant hose from the radiator and release the 2 clips.

Release the 4 coolant hose clips from the electric cooling fan shroud.

Disconnect the left side coolant hose from the radiator.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the charge air coolant pump.

- Disconnect the hose from the charge air radiator and release the clip.
- Remove the bolt and reposition the charge air coolant pump away from the cooling module.

Disconnect the degas pipe.

Disconnect the right side upper coolant hose from the radiator.

Disconnect the left side coolant hose from the charge air radiator.

Remove the nut and disconnect the lower A/C pipe from the condenser.

Remove and discard the 2 seals.

Remove the bolt and disconnect the upper A/C pipe from the condenser.

Remove and discard the 2 seals.
