Rear Silencer (G2270512): Removal

NOTE:

This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING
Remove the rear undershield.
Refer to: REAR UNDERSHIELD - PROJECT 8
CAUTION: Make sure the rear bumper cover is not damaged when following this step.

- Remove the rear silencer clamp.
- Reposition the rear silencer away from the exhaust center section.
CAUTION:
- Make sure the rear silencer is supported throughout this step.
- Do not allow the rear silencer to hang from the wiring harness.

Remove the exhaust mounting rubber.

- Reposition the rear silencer to gain access to the active exhaust actuator.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the wiring harness clip.
