Active Exhaust Module

The Active Exhaust Module (AEM) is located in the spare wheel well, under the luggage compartment floor trim panel. The AEM provides power supply and monitors the active exhaust valves for malfunctions. The AEM resets the actuators if required to bring them back into an operational state.
The AEM has the following electrical connections:
- A fused power supply from the Engine Junction Box (EJB)
- A hardwired connection for a Pulse With Modulation (PWM) signal from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
- A ground
- Power output to each exhaust valve actuators
- A ground connection to each exhaust valve actuator
- A hardwired connection to each exhaust valve actuators to forward the PWM signal from the PCM.
