Left Catalytic Converter - RWD (G1817302): Removal

NOTE:

  • This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.

    Refer to: LIFTING

  2. Remove the engine undershield.

    Refer to: ENGINE UNDERSHIELD

  3. Remove the front exhaust silencer.

    Refer to: FRONT SILENCER

    • Disconnect the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
    • Release the wiring from the 2 clips.
    • Remove the 2 heatshield bolts.
    • Remove the heatshield.

    • Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector.
    • Release the wiring from the clip.

    Remove and discard the catalytic converter to exhaust manifold nuts.

    Remove the left catalytic converter.

  8. NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.

    Using the special tool remove the Heated Oxygen Sensor (H02S).
