Intake Camshaft (G2029692): Installation

- Install the inlet camshaft.
- Install the camshaft bearing caps into the previously noted position. Lubricate each of the camshaft lobes and thrust faces with a small quantity of clean engine oil.
Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS
Torque: 12 Nm
Install a new valve cover gasket.
Renew Part Camshaft cover gasket Quantity: 1 .
- Install the valve cover.
- Install the 3 guide pins as illustrated.
Install the Special Tool(s): 303-1449-01
- Install the 16 bolts.
Torque: 10 Nm
- Remove the 3 guide pins and install the 3 retaining bolts.
Torque: 10 Nm
- Tighten the bolts in the sequence illustrated to the final torque figure.
Torque: 28 Nm

- Install the engine coolant bypass hose into the correct position.
Torque: 10 Nm
- Install the 2 engine cover support mounts.
Torque: 6 Nm
- Install the wiring harness into the correct position.
- Install the 2 retaining bolts.
Torque: 6 Nm
- Connect the 8 electrical connectors.
- Install the accessory drive belt.

- Install the High Pressure (HP) fuel pump.

- Install the purge valve assembly.
- Install the engine vent oil separator assembly.

- Install the fuel injectors.

- Install the Continuous Variable Valve Lift (CVVL) assembly.

- Install the upper timing chain.

- Connect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
