Engine Compartment Wiring Harness (G1862931): Removal
- To avoid accidental deployment and possible personal injury, the backup power supply must be depleted before repairing or replacing any airbag Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) components. To deplete the backup power supply energy, disconnect the battery ground cable and wait for one minute. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
- Never probe the electrical connectors of airbag modules or any other SRS component. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
- Always wear safety glasses when working on an airbag equipped vehicle and when handling an airbag module. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury
- Take extra care when handling SRS components.
- Note the installed position of the component(s) prior to removal.
- Extra care must be taken to avoid twisting the wiring harness, failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the vehicle.
- Extra care must be taken to avoid damage to the wiring harness clips, any damaged clips must be replaced.
- Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.

- Make sure the airbag SRS
is safe.

- Remove the air cleaner.

- Remove the windshield wiper motor.

- Remove the instrument panel cross-car beam.

Remove the front wheel arch liner.
Refer to: RADIATOR SPLASH SHIELD
Reposition the carpet as illustrated.
Disconnect the 5 electrical connectors.
- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Remove the 2 nuts.
- Remove the cover.
- Disconnect the 6 electrical connectors.
- Release the clip.
- Remove the nut.
- Release the grommet.
- Reposition the wiring harness as illustrated.

- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Release the 2 clips.
The following step(s) applies to:
Vehicles with automatic transmission
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
- Release the 2 clips.

Release the 2 clips.
- Disconnect the 5 electrical connectors.
- Release the 2 clips.
Release the 2 clips.
- Release the 2 clips.
- Reposition the carpet as illustrated.
- Remove the bolt.
- Release the 5 clips.
- Release the grommet.
- Reposition the wiring harness as illustrated.
- Remove the anti-theft passive sounder.

- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the 3 clips.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the 3 clips.
- Reposition the wiring harness as illustrated.
- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Release the 7 clips.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
- Release the 5 clips.
- Release the bracket from the 3 studs.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the 7 clips.
- Remove the bolt.
- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Release the 5 clips.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the nut and the left horn.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the 3 clips.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the nut and the right side horn.

- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the 2 clips.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the 5 clips.
- Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors.
- Release the clip.

Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Release the 4 clips.

All vehicles
- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Release the wiring harness from the 2 clips.
- Release the 2 clips.
- Remove the nut.
- Release the 2 electrical connectors.
- Reposition the cover.
- Remove the nut.
- Release the wiring harness from the clip.
- Remove the 2 nuts.
- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Release the clip.
- Reposition the wiring harness as illustrated.
Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors.
- Release the bracket from the 3 studs.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
Torque : 10Nm
- Release the 8 clips.
- Remove the engine compartment wiring harness.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
