Engine Compartment Wiring Harness (G1862931): Installation

The following step(s) applies to: 

All vehicles

    1. Install the engine compartment wiring harness.
    2. Install and tighten the 3 bolts.

      Torque  : 10Nm 

    3. Install the 8 clips.

    1. Install and tighten the 2 bolts.

      Torque  : 10Nm 

    2. Connect the 4 electrical connectors.
    3. Install the bracket to the 3 studs.

    Install and tighten the 3 bolts.

    Torque  : 10Nm

    1. Install and tighten the 2 nuts.

      Torque  : 10Nm 

    2. Connect the 3 electrical connectors.
    3. Install the clip.

    1. Install the wiring harness to the stud.
    2. Install and tighten the nut.

      Torque  : 10Nm 

    3. Reposition the cover.
    4. Install the wiring harness to the clip.

    1. Install the wiring harness to the stud.
    2. Install and tighten the nut.

      Torque  : 10Nm 

    3. Connect the 2 electrical connectors.

    1. Connect the 3 electrical connectors.
    2. Install the wiring harness to the 2 clips.
    3. Secure the 2 clips.

    The following step(s) applies to: 

    Vehicles with diesel engine

    1. Connect the 3 electrical connectors.
    2. Install the 4 clips.

    Connect the 3 electrical connectors.

    1. Connect the 4 electrical connectors.
    2. Install the clip.

    2. Install the 5 clips.

    Connect the electrical connector.

    1. Connect the electrical connector.
    2. Install the 2 clips.

    1. Connect the electrical connector.
    2. Install the right side horn and the nut.

    1. Connect the electrical connector.
    2. Install the 3 clips.

    1. Install the left horn and the nut.
    2. Connect the electrical connector.

    1. Connect the 3 electrical connectors.
    2. Install the 5 clips.
    3. Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 10Nm

    1. Install the bracket to the 3 studs.
    2. Connect the electrical connector.
    3. Install the 7 clips.

    1. Connect the 2 electrical connectors.
    2. Install the 5 clips.

    1. Connect the 3 electrical connectors.
    2. Install the 7 clips.

    1. Reposition the wiring harness as illustrated.
    2. Connect the electrical connector.
    3. Install the 3 clips.

    1. Connect the electrical connector.
    2. Install the 3 clips.
  23. Install the anti-theft passive sounder.

    Refer to: ANTI-THEFT ALARM HORN

    1. Install the grommet.

    1. Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 10Nm 

    2. Install the 5 clips.

    1. Reposition the carpet as illustrated.
    2. Install the 2 clips.

    Install the 2 clips.

    1. Connect the 5 electrical connectors.
    2. Install the 2 clips.

    Install the 2 clips.

    1. Connect the 2 electrical connectors.
    2. Install the 2 clips.

    1. Connect the 3 electrical connectors.
    2. Install the 2 clips.

    1. Reposition the wiring harness as illustrated.
    2. Install the grommet.

    1. Install the clip.
    2. Install and tighten the nut.

      Torque  : 10Nm

    1. Connect the 6 electrical connectors.
    2. Install the cover.

    1. Connect the 3 electrical connectors.
    2. Install and tighten the 2 nuts.

      Torque  : 10Nm

    Connect the 5 electrical connectors.

    Reposition the carpet as illustrated.

  38. NOTE: Repeat this step for the other side.

    Install the front wheel arch liner.

    Refer to: RADIATOR SPLASH SHIELD

  39. Install the instrument panel cross-car beam.

    Refer to the appropriate service information

  40. Install the windshield wiper motor.

    Refer to: WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR - LHD

    Refer to: WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR - RHD

  41. Install the air cleaner.

    Refer to: AIR CLEANER - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Diesel

    Refer to: LEFT AIR CLEANER - V6 S/C 3.0L Petrol

    Refer to: RIGHT AIR CLEANER - V6 S/C 3.0L Petrol

    Refer to: AIR CLEANER - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol

  42. Connect the startup battery ground cable.

    Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT

  43. Configure the component using Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment.
