Rear Bumper (G2203902): Removal

- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING

NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
Remove the rear wheel and tire.

NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Remove the 2 nuts.
- Release the rear section of the wheel arch liner.

NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
Remove the rear bumper outer screw.

NOTE: Right side only.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
Release the electrical connector.
Remove the 2 rear bumper lower bolts.
Remove the 2 covers.
Remove the 2 rear bumper upper bolts.
Release the rear bumper on both sides.

CAUTION: Make sure to protect the paintwork.
Remove the rear bumper.

NOTE: Only do the following step(s) if a new component is to be installed.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the hands-free tailgate modules.
- Disconnect the 4 parking aid sensor connectors.
- Disconnect the 2 park assist sensor connectors.
- Carefully release the 10 clips.
- Remove the rear bumper harness.

CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the clips.
- Remove the 4 parking aid sensors.
- Remove the 2 park assist sensors.
- Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors.
- Remove the 2 hands-free tailgate modules.

CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the clips.
Remove the hands-free tailgate upper sensor.

CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the clips.
Remove the hands-free tailgate lower sensor.
