Front Bumper - Project 8 (G2245715): Removal

CAUTION: Do not attempt to pull or bend the bumper assembly to improve or achieve alignment to the vehicle body panels. Failure to follow this caution could result in damage to the bumper.

NOTE:

This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING
Remove the engine undershield.
Refer to: ENGINE UNDERSHIELD - PROJECT 8
NOTE: Repeat the procedure for the other side.

Remove the front wheel arch liner.

Refer to: FRONT WHEEL ARCH LINER - PROJECT 8
CAUTION: Clamp the hoses to minimize fluid loss.

Release the washer jet hose.

Remove the 3 bolts.

Remove the 2 lower screws and 3 clips from the front bumper.

Remove the 8 upper screws and clip from the front bumper.

With assistance, remove the front bumper.
NOTE: Only do the following step(s) if a new component is to be installed.

Remove the front bumper insulator foam.

Remove the headlamp washer jet covers.

Remove the 2 lower foams from the lower grille.
NOTE: Note the different lengths of the screws.
