Constant Velocity Joint Boots (G2257944): Removal

The constant velocity boots are supplied as a pair.

Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING
Remove the front halfshaft.
Refer to: FRONT HALFSHAFT - PROJECT 8

Remove and discard the 2 retaining clips.
CAUTION: Care must be taken not to damage the component.

Position the halfshaft in a vise as illustrated.

General Equipment: Vise

Remove the inner Constant Velocity (CV) joint.

Using a suitable soft drift, strike the bearing mount in the indicated area until the circlip can be accessed.

Remove and discard the circlip.

Using the special tool remove the bearings.

Remove and discard the inner CV joint boot.

Remove and discard the 2 retaining clips.
Remove and discard the outer CV boot.
