Hood - Project 8 (G2249569): Removal

CAUTION:

Do not attempt to pull or bend the component to improve or achieve alignment to the vehicle body panels. Failure to follow this caution could result in damage to the component.

This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.

NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.

1. Open and support the hood.
2. Release the 2 struts.
3. Remove the 6 nuts.
4. With assistance, remove the hood.
NOTE: Only do the following step(s) if a new component is to be installed.

1. Release the 2 cables from the 6 clips.
2. Remove the 10 nuts.
3. Remove the hood safety catch assembly.
4. Remove the 2 strikers.
5. Remove the 4 bump stops.

1. Remove the 16 nuts.
2. Remove the hood vent.
