Drive Cycle: Notes

Pre catalyst and Mid catalyst sensors 

Drive the vehicle until the engine is fully warm (greater than +80 °C). The drive cycle should include driving the vehicle in a steady throttle condition at a road speed of 30 mph or above for a duration of at least 2 minutes. (When functional the oxygen sensor output signal can be seen reacting to changes in engine speed/load or if the sensor is faulty a DTC(s) will be raised).

Post catalyst sensors 

Post catalyst sensor monitoring can take over 30 minutes of driving to become active if the 'dew point' has not been achieved in previous drive cycles or an EMS ECU battery reset has occurred. The Drive cycle should consist of a constant speed and load allowing sufficient heat to build up in the exhaust system.
