Lower Timing Cover (G2385449): Installation

CAUTION:
- Use only a plastic scraper when removing the sealing material.
- Make sure the component is installed and bolts tightened within 7 minutes of applying the sealant.

- Make sure that all traces of the old sealant are removed from the mating surfaces.
- Apply a 3 mm diameter bead of sealant to the area illustrated.

Use the special tool to install the new lower timing cover.

Special Tool(s) : 303-1433

Renew Part: Lower timing cover Quantity: 1.
Install the 12 bolts finger tight at this stage.

Tighten the 4 bolts in the sequence illustrated.

Torque : 12Nm

Tighten the 8 bolts.

Torque : 12Nm
Remove the special tool.
Special Tool(s) : 303-1433
- Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
  Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS
- Install the vacuum pump.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
  Torque : 12Nm
Connect the vacuum pipe.
- Install the accessory drive belt tensioner.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
  Torque : 48Nm
Install the crankshaft pulley.

Install the accessory drive belt.
Refer to: ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT
Fill the engine with oil.
Refer to: ENGINE OIL VACUUM DRAINING AND FILLING
Connect the startup battery ground cable.
