Removal And Installation: Installation

step 3 Transfer case connecting sleeve O-ring seal 1
step 4 Transfer case connecting sleeve O-ring seal 1
Step 13 Front driveshaft constant velocity joint bolts 4

Procedure 

NOTE:
  • Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.
  • Some components shown removed for clarity.
  1. NOTE: If equipped.
    G11314245

    Install the Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) damper bracket.

    Torque Specification  : 25 Nm 

  2. NOTE: If equipped.

    Install the NVH.

    Torque Specification  : 45 Nm 

  3. G11314319

    Install a new O-ring seal.

    Renew Part: Transfer case connecting sleeve O-ring seal Quantity: 1.

  4. G11314318

    Install a new O-ring seal.

    Renew Part: Transfer case connecting sleeve O-ring seal Quantity: 1.

  5. CAUTION:
    • Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
    • Apply grease of the correct specification to the input shaft.

    Install the transfer case.

  6. CAUTION: Make sure the transfer case bolts are installed in the correct orientation.

    Install the transfer case retaining bolts.

    Torque Specification  : 43 Nm 

  7. NOTE: Do not fully tighten at this stage.

    Install the transfer case cross member.

  8. NOTE: Do not fully tighten at this stage.
    G11314296

    Install the transfer case to cross member retaining bolt.

  9. G11314329

    Fully tighten the transfer case cross member retaining bolts.

    Torque Specification  : 60 Nm 

  10. G11314330

    Fully tighten the transfer case to cross member retaining bolt.

    Torque Specification  : 110 Nm 

  11. CAUTION: Do not use excessive force to install the component.

    Install the wiring harness.

  12. G11314295

    Install the wiring harness bracket.

    Torque Specification  : 10 Nm 

  13. CAUTION: Make sure that new bolts are installed.

    Install the front driveshaft.

    Torque Specifications  :

    Stage 1: 40 Nm 

    Stage 2: 90° 

  14. Install the rear driveshaft.

    Refer to: Driveshaft - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Diesel .

    Refer to: Driveshaft - V6 S/C 3.0L Petrol .

    Refer to: Driveshaft - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol .

  15. Fill the transfer case.

    Refer to: Transfer Case Draining and Filling .

  16. Install the air deflector.

    Refer to: Air Deflector .

  17. Connect the battery ground cable.

    Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
